The Night She Disappeared follows Tallulah, Kim, and Sophie as a mystery unfolds and sends the town into a thrilling investigation that will forever change lives. Tallulah and Zach are going out for a nice date night, leaving Noah, their child with Tallulah's mom, Kim. All seems well until they don't return by morning. As the day goes on Kim grows more worried. Eventually, days turn into months and months into a year. Sophie has decided to move in with her boyfriend as he starts as the headteacher at the school in town. As an author who writes crime she is immediately enthralled by the case of Tallulah and Zach and when she finds a sign in her back garden saying 'Dig Here' she throws herself into the investigation. This book follows three characters through three different times, all eventually converging on the disappearance of Tallulah and Zach. I really enjoyed this book and it felt like I couldn't put it down. I honestly didn't know what to expect as the book continued on. I didn't know what happened until I was told. It was very enjoyable and left me tingling for more. My only complaint is that while I enjoyed the book and felt like I couldn't put it down, it took me a long time to finish. At times it felt like I would spend an hour just reading a couple of pages. I don't know why it took me so long though. I read pretty fast and the vocabulary wasn't very difficult. It's just a strange thing. Other than this slowness though I really enjoyed the book. It kept me at the edge of my seat the whole time. There was no perspective that I didn't like to read which was nice. I actually really liked this book and recommend it to others and hopefully, in the future, I can read some more Lisa Jewell.
